Reign of Style: A Decade of Hair, Beauty, and Fashion Unleashed

For a decade now, the Northwest has been graced by the dazzling spectacle of the Reign of Style Hair Show and competition. This annual extravaganza, now in its 10th year, was born from the visionary mind of Aisha Ellis-Asim. Recognizing a void in the region's hair show scene, Aisha set out to fill it, thus giving birth to Reign Competitions NW. The mission was clear: provide a platform for hairstylists, beauticians, makeup artists, cosmetology students, and fashion designers from Seattle, Tacoma, and surrounding areas to showcase their talents, creativity, and passion for hair, beauty, and fashion.

This year's edition of the Reign of Style, held at the iconic Seattle Center Exhibition Hall, surpassed all expectations. The excitement began with the "Watch Me Work" competition, where student and licensed barbers, locticians, braiders, and makeup artists showcased their skills in a spirited display of talent.

However, the main event was the hair competition featured a diverse array of salons vying for the coveted title of the best. With models strutting down the runway amidst pulsating music, captivating storytelling, and dynamic dance routines, each salon showcased its unique flair and innovation. The atmosphere was electrifying, with even a special performance from the NW Tap Connection adding to the already memorable day.

The beauty of competitions like this is that they truly create a space for our local beauty community to let their talents run wild while displaying them to potential future clients and, for those still in cosmetology school, potential employers.
