We live in color is a platform to introduce the community to a lot of our strong BLACK leaders in the LGBTQ+ community.
When we have conversations about “the diaspora of the Black community” we in Black Queer are only included if we ask, or when the grant funding comes in, or when pride comes. Now it’s time we the people have a respected and safe platform in our community to share our stories and calls to action.
We Live In Color Returns For Season 2 On Thursday, May 2nd at 8 pm.

Season two of "We Live in Color," hosted by Deaunte Damper, launched its premiere featuring the remarkable Randy Ford. In this segment, Ford delves into her beginnings, career, and role as the newest Executive Director of CD Forum. Ford was born and raised in Columbia City, Seattle, with a religious background. Ford's youth was marked by nomadic transitions throughout South King County, all while navigating her gender identity.
Host Deaunte Damper is set to bring his show We Live In Color back to the airwaves of Seattle and beyond. After a hiatus, the energetic and engaging host is coming home with a new set, new guests, new graphics and more as he builds a home for Seattle’s LGBTQ+ community to share their stories and perspectives. It’s a return which has been a long time coming for the community leader, and he’s excited to share this new chapter with the city.
Converge Media’s Deaunte Damper has been an integral part of Seattle’s LGBTQ+ community for years, and continues to put in the work to create space for voices to be heard. His show, We Live In Color, is set to return to the airwaves next month with a variety of guests who share joy and shine a light on issues which impact us all.
Deaunte Damper makes his 2024 return to the Black Media Matters Studios next week as he fills in for TraeAnna Holiday on her show The Day With Trae. Damper will be guest-hosting Monday, January 29 - Wednesday, January 31st with Trae Holiday returning on Thursday, February 1st.
Seattle’s Black LGBTQ+ Community came together at the W Hotel for PNW Black Pride’s 6th annual One Community One Voice event. The event featured food, speakers, and resources for community members and created an area of love and connection.
Hosted by Deaunte Damper, We Live In Color returned this week with another exciting episode featuring a prominent community leader. This episode featured Jaelynn Scott, Executive Director of the Lavender Rights Project (LRP), a Black trans advocacy group committed to providing safety, resources, and opportunities. Scott delves into her background, journey to becoming the Executive Director of LRP, and the impactful work the organization is undertaking for Seattle's Black Trans community.
