X: The Life & Times of Malcolm X Seattle Premier

Seattle Opera’s X: The Life & Times Of Malcolm X, composed by Anthony Davis, opened with a bang on Saturday, February 24th at McCaw Hall. The night was a celebration of Blackness, history, fashion, and excitement as guests experienced their first Opera. Trae Holiday of Converge Media caught up with attendees to discuss the significance of this live show.

One of the people she talked to was Seattle Opera's Director of Programs and Partnerships Dennis Robinson Jr. who said "This the first time that a black composer has been on the Seattle opera stage. So we're so excited to share that with the Seattle community, and especially with Seattle's black community, and show them that McCall Hall welcomes them and that Seattle opera welcomes them. And they're a part of what happens here. We can't do this without the community and the black community."

If you haven't seen the show yet, tonight is your chance! X: The Life & Times Of Malcolm X returns to the McCaw Hall stage at 7:30 pm, and you have until March 9th to experience this historic and groundbreaking show for yourself.
