On Saturday, June 21, 2025, the Kent Black Action Commission (KBAC) invites the community to the 14th Annual Linda Sweezer Memorial Juneteenth Festival & Celebration at Morrill Meadows Park in Kent, WA.

This year’s theme, “Freedom Through Culture and Community,” honors Juneteenth’s legacy with a full day of vibrant performances, cultural unity, and powerful storytelling. 🇺🇸✊🏾

Event Highlights Include:
🎶 Live music from jazz legend Michael Powers, gospel singers & local hip hop artists
💃🏾 Traditional African & Afro-Caribbean dance
🎤 Spoken word and poetic tributes
🍽️ Taste of Juneteenth – Free soul food & global dishes at 12:30PM
🎨 Youth crafts, community resource booths & storytelling
🖤 Interactive cultural exhibits and more

“Juneteenth is not only a time of remembrance, but also a call to continue the work of equity and empowerment,” says KBAC Executive Director Gwen Allen-Carston. Let’s honor the past and build together for the future.
