Almost The Weekend: City Beats - Fashion Meets Soul in Portland This Weekend

In this week’s City Beats, Tra’Renee is giving us all the reasons to head down to Portland — because the city is serving high fashion and smooth soul vibes all weekend long.

First up is the 12th year of Fashion NXT, Portland’s premier fashion week that’s been recognized by Forbes as one of the top fashion events in the U.S. This year’s shows take place inside the stunning One Financial Center — also known as the Bank of America Tower — overlooking the Willamette River. Each evening from Thursday through Saturday kicks off with a cocktail reception and exhibits, followed by runway shows featuring some of the country’s leading independent designers. And when the fashion lights go down, the party keeps going with official afterparties featuring DJ OG One and other top Pacific Northwest DJs spinning into the night.

Then on Sunday, if you’re not too fashioned out, Tra’Renee says to keep the vibes going at Soulful Sundays at Alberta Street Pub. The Love Train Band brings the groove with live music that’s all about connection, rhythm, and community — and the best part? There’s no cover charge.
