Almost The Weekend Ep. 17: Seattle’s Fresh Fits, Crab Boils & A Night of Poetry in Motion

It’s Almost The Weekend, and you already know Besa Gordon and Curtis “Cuddy” Delgado are back with the lineup to keep your weekend booked and busy! This week’s episode is full of community vibes, fresh fashion, and even fresher plates — plus an inspiring conversation about art and purpose with Logic Amen of The Griot Party Experience.

Kicking things off, Cuddy’s Weekend Warm Up covers everything from Garment Radio — a stylish wine-and-music affair curated by B. Haze — to the Fresh Fit Competition at Cal Anderson Park, where Seattle’s best-dressed will battle it out for bragging rights. There’s also a free community workout at SpoonFed Training’s Fabletics collab in Tukwila, and Tacoma’s Daz Deal Meal serving up chicken and waffles with live music and local love.

Then Besa jumps in with more weekend picks, including a braiding workshop at Mattice Beauty Supply in Tacoma and the mouthwatering Gold & Juicy Crab Boil at Métier Brewing Company, hosted by Chef Kristi Brown and Chef Lynn. If that wasn’t enough, she’s also shouting out the Tacoma Murder Mystery Tour for those spooky-season vibes and the Familiar Faces Party coming up at VUE Lounge — mark your calendars for that one!

In the Artist Corner, Cuddy drops some free game about keeping your “face card valid” — a reminder to artists that presentation and professionalism go hand-in-hand with creativity. Then, Logic Amen joins the show to talk about his Poetry in Motion Ball, happening October 25 at the Royal Esquire Club. He breaks down the inspiration behind the event, the significance of indigo blue, and why this night of culture, creativity, and community is one you don’t want to miss.

As always, Besa and Cuddy close things out with their Weekend Picks, and surprise — they both have their eyes (and stomachs) set on the crab boil!

If you’re tired of traffic this weekend, Besa reminds us to keep it easy and ride Metro, light rail, or even the water taxi to get where you’re going — because nobody has time for parking stress.
