Back2Besa: Youth Power, Community Healing, Buffalo Soldiers & NAACP Convention on FOX SOUL
This episode of Back2Besa on FOX SOUL, hosted by Tavis Conway, highlights stories of power, pride, and purpose across the Pacific Northwest and beyond. We begin with the Next Generation Level Up Celebration, where FAST and AVELA invested in Seattle’s youth through career readiness, STEM projects, and internships. At Garfield High School, students walked out to honor Amarr Murphy-Paine and other peers lost to gun violence, reminding us of the urgent fight for safety.
The Blueprint Brunch brought leaders together to address gun violence, mental health, re-entry, and financial literacy with honest dialogue and actionable solutions. In Seattle’s Central District, the Daddy Stroller Social Club hosted the inaugural Seattle Stride, redefining fatherhood through healing, vulnerability, and joy.
We ride through history at Red Barn Ranch with the Buffalo Soldiers of Seattle, honoring the legacy of Black cowboys and lessons in self-care. On the Gardener Global Rooftop, Omari Salisbury and Marcus Green are celebrated for building platforms that amplify community voices. Finally, the 116th NAACP National Convention in Charlotte, NC, brought together advocates and leaders under the theme “The Urgency of Now,” tackling civil rights, voting rights, and youth leadership.
From youth empowerment to fatherhood, healing, and civil rights, Back2Besa continues to showcase the resilience and vision of our communities.
