Celebrating Women Entrepreneurs and Creators on This Week’s Episode of Back2Besa
This week on Back2Besa hosted by Besa Gordon, we’re celebrating women who are doing incredible things across the Pacific Northwest. From art and wellness to fitness, wine, and beauty, this episode shines a light on women who are building businesses, creating community spaces, and opening doors for others.
We’re kicking things off in Seattle at MUVA, a creative hub inside the Columbia Tower founded by artist and entrepreneur Jonarra Swanson. MUVA is more than just an art gallery—it’s a space where artists can showcase their work, connect with community, and even take part in hands-on experiences like paint sessions and glassblowing classes.
Next, we head down to Tacoma to visit Intentions Juice & Smoothie Bar, founded by Marquita Evans. What started as a juice bar has grown into a wellness-centered space where fresh juices, community, and healthy living all come together. While we were there, Besa also had to grab one of her favorites—avocado toast—which has basically become a must-order every time she stops by.
While we’re in Tacoma, we also pull up to The Trap Lab, a fitness studio created by sisters Icea Pettigrew and Sharde Bullard. The Trap Lab blends culture, music, and movement into a high-energy fitness experience that feels more like a party than a workout. With classes like Knuck If You Buck, Get This Werk, and Hit the Floor, the studio has become a space where people come together to stay active while building community.
From there, we travel down to Portland, Oregon to meet Tiquette Bramlett, founder of Our Legacy Harvested, a nonprofit working to create more opportunities for BIPOC communities in the wine industry. Through education, mentorship, and community-building, the organization is helping open doors for the next generation of wine professionals and enthusiasts. Since launching the nonprofit, Tiquette has also introduced her own wine label, Henderson Ave, which focuses on bringing people together and creating moments that turn neighbors into friends.
Back in Seattle, we stop by ROJO Juice inside Pike Place Market, founded by Rhonda “Row” Faison. Row’s journey into plant-based wellness began with a deeply personal mission—creating fresh juice blends to support her brother’s health. What started as something she made with love for family has now grown into a space where people can stop by the market and enjoy intentional blends designed to refuel and recharge.
Finally, we wrap things up at the 12th Annual Reign of Style Hair Show and Competition, created by Aisha Ellis-Asim. The event brings together some of the region’s most talented barbers, hairstylists, makeup artists, and creatives to showcase their skills in live competitions. From fades and braids to barber designs and makeup artistry, the room was filled with creativity, culture, and community.
It’s an episode dedicated to women who are building, creating, and inspiring others—and it’s one you don’t want to miss.
