We aim to tell stories of the Black experience across the entire Pacific Northwest

Converge Media announces the launch of a Portland office with a production studio to come online later this year. In Portland, Converge Media will focus on content creation that uplifts Black stories and storytellers in the Rose City while also offering production services. The move into Portland has long been part of Converge Media’s strategy to be a market leader in telling Black stories through video across the Pacific Northwest.

“When we launched Converge Media five years ago, our vision was to uplift Black stories and Black content creators across our region by providing a platform for the production, distribution, marketing, and monetization of their works, Portland was on our map from the beginning and we are just happy to announce today that we continue to thrive in our purpose and our vision continues to materialize,” said Omari Salisbury, CEO of Converge Media.

Beyond the storytelling aspect, production opportunities are growing for Converge in Oregon. Although many people know Converge Media for news and entertainment programming across 15 shows that currently air on the Converge Media platforms, Converge Media has stayed busy producing content for external clients up and down I-5 including TV commercials, short films, and news content. With production offices now open in downtown Portland, Converge Media will have a presence closer to the growing number of clients in the Beaver state.

Converge Media enters the market well connected to community in the media and music landscape. Iconic Rose City artist and radio personality Terrance “Cool Nutz” Scott will serve as interim market manager.  Scott who hosts the Northwest Breakout Show on JAM’N 107.5 (IheartRadio) has long been a mainstay of Portland Hip-Hop, Black culture, and community service.

Besa Gordon, host of The Rewind With Besa on Converge Media is also an on-air personality on JAM’N 107.5, and with the Portland production studios coming online later this year will expand her video content to include the Rose City.

“Portland has so many stories to tell around the Black experience, we look forward to uplifting them,” said Salisbury
