Drawn to Heal: Jenefeness Franke Talks Softness, Self-Love & the Power of a Healed Girl Summer

In an intimate and powerful Back2Besa interview, Besa Gordon sat down with author, speaker, and coach Jenefeness Franke to dive into her newest book Drawn To You—a heartfelt guide to healing, self-discovery, and feminine energy.

Released earlier this spring, Drawn To You isn’t just a book—it’s what Jenefeness calls “a healing roadmap” for women, especially Black women, who are ready to stop surviving and start living from a place of wholeness. During their conversation, Jenefeness opened up about her journey through trauma, therapy, and two divorces, and how she eventually found the love she deserved—by first learning to love herself.

“I had to forgive myself before I could love myself,” she said. “I had to look in the mirror and say, ‘I love me some Jenefeness.’”

Throughout the interview, she shared how affirmations, mantras, and mindset rewiring helped her shift from trauma responses to intentional living. She spoke candidly about unlearning toxic relationship patterns and embracing her feminine energy, a major theme of the book.

Drawn To You is about alignment. It’s about attracting—not chasing—and writing your vision so clearly that when something doesn’t align, you can say ‘no’ and mean it.”

One of the standout moments was when Jenefeness recalled the shift in her marriage after learning she didn’t have to do everything. After years of leading in her relationships, she learned to lean back and let her partner lead—a transformation that came with vulnerability and trust.

“I used to wear independence like a badge of honor,” she said. “But that was actually stripping my husband of the role he wanted to play. Once I realized that, I finally let myself fall back.”

Her favorite chapter of the book, “The Sacred Garden,” teaches women how to sit still, embrace their single season, and radiate from within. She calls this the foundation of what she’s coined a Healed Girl Summer—a season of slowing down, tuning in, and releasing what no longer serves.

“We’re so used to jumping from one relationship to the next, but healing takes time. Stillness is where we become whole.”

Frankly put, Drawn To You is for any woman tired of code-switching, tired of performing, and ready to show up as her full, authentic self—no apologies, no filters.

The book is available now atwww.jenefeness.com andwww.fiscalfinesse.net. Readers are encouraged to leave a review and share their stories—because, as Jenefeness says, “we all have a story, and healing starts when we release it.”
