Envi Jordan Talks Self-Love, Musical Roots, and Charting Success on 'We Live In Color'
Seattle-based artist Envi Jordan recently sat down with host Deaunte Damper on “We Live In Color” to share insights into his musical roots and his upcoming self-titled EP, “Envi.”
Explaining that his taste was nurtured by his mother and grandmother who introduced him to legends like Madonna, Janet Jackson, Prince, and Sade, Jordan is originally from New York, then relocated to Georgia before moving to Seattle.
The artist reflected on his personal growth, discussing his Caribbean background and the challenges of navigating self-love while facing past criticism and bullying. “When you're doing music, you're being yourself,” he said, sharing the importance of self-preservation and vulnerability in his work,
Jordan revealed that he recently discovered his music is charting internationally in South Africa on both daily and weekly charts. This success follows his appearance on the cover of Seattle Gay News (SGN), an experience he described as "unreal" and a motivating part of his history as an artist.
Jordan’s latest single "Somebody to Love" is one of his most raw and straightforward lyrical works to date, he said. He detailed the process of creating his first music video for the track, which he edited and color-graded himself to ensure his vision was fully realized.
