Golden Hour in the Garden: Bellevue’s Big Night for Black Business and Our Kids
Bellevue is about to glow a little brighter this August. We’re talking about Golden Hour Unboxed, a community-first celebration of Black excellence and entrepreneurship taking over the stunning Bellevue Botanical Garden on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
This isn't your average networking mixer. Hosted by the incomparable Besa Gordon, this evening is all about visibility, connection, and real-time support for the innovators right here in our backyard. The centerpiece of the night? The Micro Speed Pitching Showcase, where local Black-owned businesses get two minutes on the mic to share their vision with an audience of neighbors and supporters.

But we aren't just looking at the future of business; we’re looking out for the next generation. As the new school year looms, Golden Hour Unboxed is bringing the Pack-the-Box back-to-school drive to the lawn. It’s simple: bring supplies, help pack them up, and ensure our students head into the first day of class with everything they need to succeed.
Why You Need to Be There
Imagine live performances and storytelling against the backdrop of a botanical sunset. It’s free, it’s for all ages, and it’s a direct way to be part of the City of Bellevue’s Cross-Cultural Center without Walls initiative.
