KD Hall Communications and Converge Media Form Partnership

The collaboration will focus on stories that inspire and strengthen communities of color.

SEATTLE, Wash. - KD Hall Communications and Converge Media announced today a strategic partnership to strengthen the bond and increase the storytelling of diverse communities across the Pacific Northwest, throughout the U.S., and around the globe, with an emphasis on issues important to them.

KD Hall Communications is an award-winning client-focused firm dedicated to world-class service and storytelling that drives peak performance, culture, and generates positive results for clients.

“I am thrilled to partner with Omari Salisbury, Founder and CEO, of Converge Media,” said KD Hall, CEO and Principal Consultant, KD Hall Communications. “Omari brings a distinguished background as an international media executive who has worked throughout the world to launch TV and radio stations. Separately, we are movements by ourselves, but a force when we are together.”

Converge Media, recently recognized with an Emmy® Award, is a trusted resource and leading producer for culturally compassionate, community news and entertainment tailored for Black and urban audiences. Converge is the largest producer of original Black video and creates content and local news specifically for the Northwest's Black community and beyond.

“KD Hall Communications brings a stellar track record of storytelling around the black experience,” said Salisbury. “Their expertise and savvy will provide the bandwidth we need to expand our footprint to reach a larger global audience.”

Now in its sixth year, Converge is focused on not only expanding its reach regionally and nationally but also  internationally leveraging Salisbury’s expertise and relationships from a nearly two decade career working in global media markets.

“We want to continue to tell real stories about real people, companies, and communities in the Pacific Northwest and beyond,” said Hall. “Since incubation, the strategic plan of KD Hall Communications was to be a firm with global reach. Together we will be able to expand and make a larger impact worldwide.”

In 2021, KD Hall was named to a pair of 40-under-40 lists (Puget Sound Business Journal and South Sound Business), while earning a Northwest Regional Emmy nomination and a series of other awards that highlight the companies’ ability to generate positive results for their clients. This year, KD Hall Communications and KD Hall Foundation earned three Emmy nominations for documentaries that amplify the voices, history, and legacy of women of color.

Converge Media currently produces more than 15 shows with coverage spanning local news, arts and culture, current events and trends, pop culture, politics and policy, LGBTQ+, sports, lifestyle and travel, music and more.

Salisbury added, “...to be honest we have so many great things happening internally and opportunities opening daily externally that it was important for Converge Media to partner with one agency that has the insights and experience to provide meaningful strategy and communications across all touch points of our operations.”
