Opera’s Most Scandalous Spectacle is Back: Salome Returns to Seattle After 24 Years
Seattle Opera is kicking off its 2026-27 season with a massive splash by bringing back Richard Strauss and Oscar Wilde’s masterpiece, Salome. For the first time in over two decades, this white-knuckle ride of desire, drama, and intense corruption is hitting the stage at McCaw Hall to showcase opera's boldest, spookiest side.
Star-Studded Production & World-Class Music
Soprano Brenda Rae leads the charge as the complex and magnetic Salome. Conductor Benjamin Manis anchors this electrifying production, making his Seattle Opera debut alongside 81 virtuoso musicians of the Seattle Symphony. Together with Stage Director Bruno Ravella, they're delivering a theatrical experience you do not want to miss.
