So About Yesterday | Glam, Cameras & Three Shoots Later: A Day In The Life of Besa Gordon
By Besa Gordon - “So About Yesterday” is a new series I’m doing where I take yall with me and show you a day in my life. Some people say I’m always busy, I like to think my job just requires different things. Anywho let’s talk about what went down on Tuesday. We started at FOX 13 Seattle where Key Porter pulled up and got my hair right and Mina was out here performing miracles on my face — because y’all already know my eczema sometimes likes to have it’s own series of scares on my face. But, that’s where Mina comes in and always makes sure the camera doesn’t catch every bruise or flare-up, because this day my skin was OVER IT.
Once glam wrapped, it was straight into the studio to record Back2Besa, shoot social snippets, then I ran downtown because your girl was hungry AND still had two more shoots left. I was hungry (as usual lol), so I pulled up to Pass D Jollof for some chicken jollof because… vibes + flavor = survival. Plus I was able to use my Buy Black Card by Intentionalist there. (BTW if you still don’t have one, what are you waiting for?)
From there, I went over to Converge Media to tap in with The Big O for our Giving Tuesday telethon.
Then once that wrapped it was time to prep for shoot number THREE aka film Almost The Weekend with Cuddy where our guest this week was Leah from Lada Nada who pulled up with TWENTY empanadas that had the entire set rethinking their life choices. The shrimp one (which was a team favorite) was giving seafood boil energy. I don’t know how she did it, but my taste buds were grateful.
And AFTER all of that… guess what? The day STILL wasn’t done.
I went home, got in my oversized hoodie (aka my snuggie), took my laptop to the rooftop, and finished the work that didn’t care how many shoots I did that day.
Somedays are glam.
Somedays are exhausting.
Somedays it’s chicken jollof and empanadas saving the day.
And others it’s emails in a snuggie at 11PM.
BUT at the end of the day, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
🎬 Welp that was Episode 1 of “So About Yesterday.” Stay tuned for what I do next.
