The most recent defeat comes at the hands of the Montreal Canadiens, a 5-1 result that Seattle was never truly in.

Just hours ahead of the NHL’s trade deadline, amid conflicting reports about his future, Seattle Kraken forward and alternate captain Jordan Eberle signed a two-year extension that will likely see his playing career finish in the Pacific Northwest. Continued strong play by Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer and the Seattle defenseman kept the Stars at bay, while the Kraken skaters tore through Dallas.

In game two of their second round Stanley Cup Playoffs matchup, the Seattle Kraken were unable to keep up with the Dallas Stars pressure, and made things worse when they gave the Stars free power play opportunities with undisciplined play. It’s a frustrating result, but leaving the lone star state with a split series isn’t the worst thing in the world.
