Spokane, WA – Terrain, the dynamic non-profit dedicated to fostering the local arts scene, is gearing up for its 16th Annual Flagship Event dedicated to celebrating and uplifting artists in the Inland Northwest. This free community event, Friday, October 3rd, from 5 PM to 12 AM, has grown from a mere mission to the region’s largest annual multimedia art and music showcase, attracting thousands of attendees each year. For years, Converge Media has made the glorious trip down I-90 East to the Lilac City to capture the potent magic and culture of the annual art festival.
For over a decade, Terrain has been a champion of artists in the Inland Northwest. This year’s flagship event will feature unique works from 483 artists, poets, photographers, filmmakers, musicians, and performers who live and create in the area. The event, held at a historic warehouse in downtown Spokane, is open to all ages and promises an abundant display of local art, including mixed-media, paintings, sculpture, sound installations, wearable art, poetry, live music, theater, and dance performances.

"Terrain is a celebration of visual art, literary art, dance, performance, and music, all converging to create a truly immersive experience." Ewing emphasized Terrain's commitment to supporting local artists. "Terrain is more than just an event; it's a platform for empowering artists and fostering a sense of community,” she said.

In 2023, Terrain focused on providing opportunities for emerging artists by placing them alongside established names. Artist Frances Grace Mortel highlighted the unique sense of community, saying, "For two days, we turn this abandoned building into a magical place."
Wendy Levy from The Alliance for Media Arts and Culture emphasized the festival's energy and creativity, describing it as a space where imagination thrives. The event also featured performances and music, celebrating a blend of cultures and art forms. Ewing reflected on 2023’s festival with pride. “In 2023 alone, we put $983,000 directly back into our local artists' pockets,” she said.
