WEIRD at NIGHT: January 14th

Are you creative? Are you in to things made by creative people? What about local people? What about people who were born nearly 100 years ago who died nearly 20 years ago? If you answered “sometimes” to at least 1 of these questions then we have great news for you…WEIRD at NIGHT is a celebration of creativity and the people who harness it every Saturday at 10pm live on Converge Media!

This Saturday we’ve got incredible music videos from Seattle indie band Bad Optics and legendary WAN rapper Terry Monstrosity. We’re also diving deep in to visual art with a look at the work of groundbreaking painter and sculptor Thornton Dial. We’ll also look at an exhibit from legendary Korean installation artist Nam June Paik. But what else? WHAT DO YOU MEAN “WHAT ELSE”?! Fine here’s what else - we’ll look at the history of animation and the groundbreaking technique known as rotoscoping. We’ll have 5 track previews from Northwest musicians via NadaMucho.com plus further adventures from our cast of strange and bizarre characters. THAT is what else.

And that’s not all. WEIRD at NIGHT is entirely interactive. Hosted by Patrick Galactic, the chat guides the flow of the show. Viewers answer and ask questions that Patrick responds to as the show goes along. At the end of every episode, Patrick leads the audience through the Autowrite, an activity that encourages participants to trust their unconscious creative impulses.

We are what we say we are. We’re WEIRD. We’re on AT NIGHT. We…well, that’s really it, isn’t it? Tune in Saturday at 10pm PT and join the absurdity.
