Wesley Nicholson Discusses Two Maids of Kent and Keeping Community Clean
In a recent interview on "The Day with Trae," Wesley Nicholson, owner of Two Maids of Kent, shared his journey into entrepreneurship and the unique value his cleaning franchise brings to the community. Nicholson's story is one of family, personal conviction, and a deep commitment to quality service.
Growing up in Cleveland, Ohio, Nicholson was surrounded by business owners from his uncles to his grandmother. This early exposure laid the groundwork for his future aspirations to have control of his own trajectory. After gaining skill sets from business school, working at Amazon, and serving in the Navy, he felt ready to take the leap.
"It gave me the confidence to be like, 'Hey, I think I can take this on. I think I can be an employer. I think I can make sure I'm giving out wages. I make sure I can provide for the community,’” he said.
The decision to open a Two Maids franchise stemmed from a desire for ownership and a personal need for peace of mind. “I'm tired of my future being in the hands of corporate America or jobs or whatever the case may be, and I just wanted to do something that I can be proud of and give back to the community,” he said, officially opening the business in September 2025.
Nicholson resonated with the idea of a service that frees up time for others. "I'm very much a man of... don't mess with my peace,” he said, a sentiment he knew a vast customer base would share.
Nicholson's thorough search for the right franchise took about a year, considering options from gyms to pet grooming. Two Maids of Kent stood out because it allowed him to manage the business while still working full-time.
Two Maids of Kent, as highlighted by Nicholson, is committed to trust and quality. The company performs background checks on all employees, is insured, and has a system for addressing all customer concerns, he said.
Beyond standard cleaning services, the cleaning company demonstrates a profound commitment to community through its partnership with the organization Cleaning for a Reason, an organization that provides free cleanings for individuals battling cancer.
"We're here to give people time back. You want your house clean. You want to be trusted. You want to make sure that it's going to be legit when you come back home. That's who we are,” he said.
