Wilson Appears Headed for Mayoral Win as Lead Climbs to 1,346

Progressive challenger Katie Wilson has significantly extended her lead over incumbent Mayor Harrell today, now ahead by 1,346 votes, a major jump from yesterday's razor-thin 91-vote margin.

Here are some numbers and analysis:

* Approximately 1,400 regular ballots are still pending count.

* Crucially, up to 3,000 ballots are challenged and still need to be "cured" (e.g., voters must verify their signature) to be counted.

* The successful curing of 353 previously challenged ballots in the last 24 hours shows that these late-arriving votes could be decisive.

*Harrell would have a significant hill to climb to catch up and win. He would need to get over 80% of the remaining votes to win, plus cure a vote in his favor for every one that Wilson cures. Harrell got half of that -40% today
