Reggie Witherspoon III put together a dominant showing at the 1A state Track and Field championships. In just his sophomore year at Seattle Academy, Witherspoon took home gold in both the 100 meter and 200 meter races. The standout athlete joined The Truth With Proof last week to discuss his motivation and journey.

Witherspoon’s athletic dominance shouldn’t come as a shock. His father, Reggie Witherspoon Jr, was a standout running back for Eastern Washington University and is now the head coach of the Garfield Bulldog football team where Witherspoon III plays for him. The younger Witherspoon is also a standout on the Seattle Academy basketball team, making him a three sport athlete.

The victory, after which the elder Witherspoon was able to present his son with the medal, propels Witherspoon III into the summer months during which he’ll prepare for his junior season with the Garfield football team.
