Mariners sweep Blue Jays behind wild comeback, move ahead of Toronto for Wild Card spot
The Seattle Mariners completed a four game sweep of the Toronto Blue Jays thanks to an incredible comeback. First baseman Carlos Santana had another two-run go ahead homer to give Seattle the win.
Baseball, Civil Rights and Reconciliation: Day 3 (Selma & Montgomery, Alabama)
Day 3 of the Baseball Beyond Borders trip through the South took us out of Jackson, Mississippi and moved East to Alabama. After a quick stop in downtown Jackson, we hit the road. A stop in Selma took brought us to the Edmund Pettus Bridge, the site of Bloody Sunday as well as other famous marches. We then travelled to Montgomery, where the team watched a Montgomery Biscuits game (the AA affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays).

The Seattle Mariners won their sixth straight series thanks to a 2-1 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. A Carlos Santana two-run homer gave the Mariners a lead that they would never look back from.
Sounders embarrassed at home in 3-0 loss to Timbers
In their July 9th matchup, the Seattle Sounders were embarrassed by the Portland Timbers in a three goal thrashing. Prior to the match, the Sounders unveiled their Concacaf Champions league victory banner in front of 47K fans at Lumen field.
Baseball, Civil Rights and Reconciliation: Day 2 (Jackson, Mississippi)
Today brought the second and final day of the camp, which featured a 60-yard dash and a whiffle ball game in the outfield. Campers and players built on relationships formed on day one, bonding over the shared experience of baseball.
“It’s really amazing to see,” Mariners Legend Dan Wilson said. “You can see how much fun everyone is having.”
Eugenio Suarez walks off Blue Jays in game two of series
In game two of four against the Toronto Blue Jays, the Seattle Mariners walked it off in the 11th inning thanks to an Eugenio Suarez three-run homer. Seattle has a 2-0 series lead over the Blue Jays, and look to win the series tomorrow

Seattle’s own Baseball Beyond Borders kicked off a four-day trip through the South, beginning with a youth baseball clinic in Jackson, Mississippi. Hosted at Jackson State University in association with the John and Vera Mae Perkins Foundation, the clinic brought kids aged 9-18 to learn from the Baseball Beyond Borders Senior Division All-Star Team.

The Seattle Community Police Commission is Disappointed in the Findings of the Charleena Lyles Inquest
The Seattle Community Police Commission (CPC) is disappointed in the inquest’s findings in the fatal shooting of Charleena Lyles’ by Seattle police officers. The CPC hoped that the new reformed inquest would produce a better process where the coroner’s office would provide facts on Lyles’s shooting, and that her family would be able to participate.

During the 7 days of the inquest proceeding a solid and unflinching blue wall justified each and every action of its officers. The process focused only on the officers’ states of mind. The Seattle Mariners completed a series win over the Oakland Athletics, for their fourth consecutive series win. Seattle has now won ten of their last 13 games, and with the win on Sunday take over 2nd place in the AL West.
Besa Gordon and Trae Holiday take LA for Hadestown tour kickoff
Converge Media’s Besa Gordon and Trae Holiday travelled to LA for the beginning of the Hadestown national tour, part of Broadway Across America. They brought Converge’s brand to the red carpet as they talked to actors from the show and writer Anais Mitchell.
Hadestown: Kimberly Marable and Kevin Morrow
Last month, Trae Holiday and Besa Gordon took over LA. During this trip, Holiday got to interview Kimberly Marable and Kevin Morrow, the star-studded Persephone and Hades of Hadestown.
Hadestown is an eight-time Tony Award-winning musical and is now taking its talent on tour. Hadestown is a musical with a complex story and spectacular vocals, especially from Marable (Persephone) and Morrow (Hades).
Hadestown: Levi Kreis
Levi Kreis is Tony Award winning actor from Tennessee and spoke to Trae Holiday and Besa Gordon about what he brings to the role and his experience with the show.
“Not only is this in my world as someone who has been a singer-songwriter for years,” Kreis said. “But also the message of Hermes really spoke to me.”
Hadestown: Morgan Siobhan Green and Nicholas Barasch
Morgan Siobhan Green and Nicholas Barasch play Eurydice and Orpheus in Hadestown, but their on-stage chemistry is a product of a deeper bond.
“We definitely embody our characters a lot,” Barasch said. Both he and Green say their off-stage presence mimics what viewers see during the show, adding an air of authenticity to this stunning production.
Hadestown: Anais Mitchell - Writer
Trae Holiday and Besa Gordon got the opportunity to interview Anais Mitchell, the writer of the eight-time Tony award-winning musical Hadestown, at its Los Angeles red carpet premiere.
Hadestown is widely considered as musical theater royalty. The show first started in 2006, but it didn’t debut on Broadway until 2019, almost 13 years after its conception. Now, in 2022 Hadestown has finally made its way to a national tour.
Toro walks it off to give Mariners 2-1 win over Athletics
The Seattle Mariners beat the Oakland Athletics 2-1 on Saturday July 2nd to take a 2-1 series lead. Starter George Kirby had a good outing, while the Mariners were able to overcome their bases loaded issue when it mattered the most.
