Sometimes we forget that addiction has a face and a name. So many in our community and across our country struggle daily with addiction and become anonymous and faceless. In a city that can be so giving when it wants to be, far too often we do not have a willingness to extend humanity to those who need it most.

In the second game of the series and season, the Seattle Mariners got off to a rocky start with their pitching and never got going. Starter Robbie Ray stumbled in his first start of the season, and the bullpen struggled as well in the first loss of the Mariners.

Nearly 900 people gathered in a downtown Seattle ballroom to show their support for King County Councilmember Girmay Zahilay and his push to improve mental health access, and to honor King County residents who have worked to improve their communities.

Returning home from a four-game road trip, the Seattle Kraken were able to use two-goal periods in the 1st and 3rd to defeat the scrappy division rival Anaheim Ducks by a score of 4-1. Seattle’s magic number drops to 9 thanks to their win and a Nashville Predators loss.

The evening of March 16 marked a night of thrilling victory for The Anchor Group and its partner agency C+C, who took a stunning win at an awards ceremony widely known as “the Oscars for Public Relations.” Anchor not only won Best in Public Sector for its WeConsider campaign addressing COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy; it was also the only Black agency represented on a national scale.

Besa Gordon and Curtis Delgardo II were at T-Mobile Park yesterday for the unveiling of the Mariners’ newly renovated Diamond Club and Press Club. They took in the sights and sounds as President of Business Operations Catie Griggs spoke to the press.

The new Diamond Club was designed in partnership with the Muckleshoot Tribe, bringing their influence into the decor and experience.

Cal Bonner took interest in art at a young age. Fascinated by his friend's arts, he had to trace them as a form of practice. "My friend was a good artist; he drew, and I was tracing art," said Bonner.

His friend encouraged him to start drawing by himself. "He said you've got to draw something for real, and so he made me draw on the spot in front of him, and then that's when I learned that this is something different," Bonner said.

Robbie Ray, Seattle’s second pitcher in the rotation, is looking to “bounce back” from a tough moment in the ALDS against Houston. Ray will look to continue his efficient pitching and fanning hitters for the Mariners in the second year of his contract, they look to have the best rotation in all of baseball.

The Seattle Mariners, looking to build further upon their 2022 playoff berth, added some notable veteran bats in free agency and are betting on repeat performances and breakout seasons in 2023. In their final game of Spring Training, our Seattle Mariners fell to the San Diego Padres as starter Marco Gonzales allowed three earned runs over four innings. Seattle got some offense in the third inning, but that’s all they could muster.
