Trey Lamont Opens New Jerk Shack Location in the Central District
Yesterday the Jerk Shack Kitchen opened its doors for the first time in Seattle’s #CentralDistrict and our Besa Gordon was the FIRST customer at Chef Trey Lamont’s second and newest location on 23rd and Union. Lamont, a Central District native, has been cooking up cuban eats for years in Pioneer Square (where the Jerk Shack will stay open), and now expands his reach with a second location to the heart of Seattle’s Central District.
#BlackWallStreet - Community Comes Together to Support Black Business
Black Businesses thrive in Seattle. Yesterday, 102 Black Businesses lined up along Jackson Street for the annual Black Wall Street Event. Folks from around the city and beyond came out to support vendors, eat amazing food and feel the good vibes on a beautiful sunny day. City of Seattle’s Neighborhood Matching Fund Invests $1,012,644 in 25 Community-led Projects
SEATTLE (May 24, 2023) – The City of Seattle has awarded $1,012,644 to support 25 community-initiated projects through Seattle Department of Neighborhoods’ Neighborhood Matching Fund (NMF). Twenty-five community groups received awards ranging from $13,535 to $50,000 and have pledged $889,749 to match their award through local cash donations, volunteer hours, donated materials, and in-kind professional services.
