Are y’all pulling up to the Teen Summer Musical this month? Act on Stage is marking a monumental 10-year anniversary with Peter Pan: Ready to Rise at Seattle’s McCaw Hall, a production designed to lead young people past life’s heavy obstacles and prepare them to rise above it all. 

Director Isiah Anderson Jr. said that despite the city’s displacement, local Black youth involved are reclaiming their space, traveling from as far as Puyallup, Enumclaw, and Tacoma to put on a show. At its core, the Teen Summer Musical is creating a safe, competitive-free sanctuary that feels less like a theater company and more like family.
