Besa Gordon joined Good Day Seattle this morning to celebrate the grand opening of Boon Boona Coffee's newest location at the Overlook Walk at Waterfront Park. The new cafe, which Gordon described as a "lighthouse on a hill," is intended to serve as a point of connection for the Seattle community.

“I could not believe how many people that were actually there,” Gordon said, highlighted the immense community support that turned out for the event despite cold, rainy, and windy weather. “That's how much people love Boon Boona.”

The waterfront opening represented a significant full-circle moment for founder Efrem Fesaha, who first visited the area 40 years ago as an immigrant. For Gordon, who was Fesaha’s first customer at his University District location, seeing the business expand to a flagship spot near Pike Place Market demonstrates Fesaha’s dedication to the community.
