Saturday was a tremendous day for the Rainier Beach family. A series of historic dedications took place, cementing legacies of dedication and service. The Rainier Beach High School Library was officially dedicated to Betty Patu, the Athletic Complex to Coach Michael S. Bethea, and the brand-new basketball court to NBA star and RBHS alum, Jamal Crawford. At the heart of it all, captured in this video, was Jamal's genuine spirit of giving and selflessness.

Jamal shared how his purpose has shifted, emphasizing that true fulfillment comes not just from personal success, but from uplifting others and serving the community. Crawford spoke passionately about wanting the students and the entire Rainier Beach neighborhood to have something they could be incredibly proud of – a 'crown jewel' as he called it.

This dedication symbolized his unwavering commitment to leaving a lasting legacy built on love, character, and a genuine desire to take everyone with him on the journey. This was more than just a court dedication; it was a celebration of community, legacy, and the powerful impact of a man who truly understands that 'it’s dope when you take everybody with you.'
