Michelle McClendon - LEAD Project Manager / East Precinct

Check out Michelle McClendon, a game-changing community organizer, advocate, and lead facilitator for the Civil Survival Project (CSP), an organization led by formerly justice-involved folks. Michelle's work with CSP focuses on teaching civic engagement and how to make an ask through storytelling. In addition to this, Michelle has over twenty years of experience

Working in human and social services, healthcare, and the criminal legal system. Her passion for community organizing and policy change has led her to work with organizations like the Reentry Transitions Pathways and While In School Housing (WISH) programs, where she created and directed successful reentry and student housing programs, receiving employee of the year for her work. This led to additional state funds for other higher ed institutions to pilot the program.

In 2020, Michelle became a full-time LEAD Project Manager serving the East, South, and Southwest precincts, while also providing project management support for Burien and White Center. Michelle's unique perspective and experience allows her to approach these issues from a non-judgmental, holistic, trauma-informed approach.

Check out Michelle’s interview on The Days with Trae with guest host Deaunte Damper as she discusses the Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) program.
