Although it was a shortened outing, starting pitcher Bryan Woo got the job done and second baseman Josh Rojas continues to settle in nicely.

To begin a weekend honoring The King and to open a series against the Baltimore Orioles, the Seattle Mariners extended their winning streak to eight games with a blowout victory and result of 9-2. With their victory over the Orioles, the best team in the American League, Seattle is now just half a game out of the third Wild Card spot.

After the MLB Trade Deadline had passed, the Seattle Mariners fell to the Boston Red Sox as starting pitcher Bryce Miller struggled in his outing, surrendering all six of the runs Boston scored, while the Mariners offense struggled once again with runners in scoring position.
