“Window Into Solitary” is a photography exhibition that documents the lived experiences of 17 men and women who survived long-term solitary confinement. Through striking portraits and first-person testimony, the exhibition invites us to confront the human cost of isolation while honoring the resilience of those who endured it.

The 12th Annual Reign of Style Hair Show & Competition (ROS) is scheduled for Sunday, March 1st, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall. The high-energy event, hosted by TraeAnna Holiday, features a Main Show Competition for a $1,000 grand prize, as well as "Watch Me Work" competitions for makeup artists, braiders/locticians, and barbers.

On Saturday, Dec. 13, The Seattle Public Library’s Douglass-Truth Branch invites all of Seattle to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its community-chosen name. A half-century ago, the Central District came together to rename its library to reflect its community, marking a moment for the Black community in Seattle. 

Bestselling author, cultural organizer, and Marvel comics writer Eve L. Ewing will present the 2025 Bullitt Lecture in American History about her new book "Original Sins: The (Mis)education of Black and Native Children and the Construction of American Racism.” Hosted by Seattle Public Library (SPL), the lecture will take place on Thursday, Dec. 4 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Central Library Microsoft Auditorium.

“MR. TOMONOSHi! Slices of Black American Life” is a live performance of Blaxploitation poems and short stories—a raw, electrifying, and wondrously whimsical articulation of the fantastical lives of Black Americans. Written and performed by Martellus Bennett, also known as MR. TOMONOSHi, each piece colors outside the lines, transforming the stage into a sacred space where Black imagination and the Black American experience collide.

The Small Business Saturday Food Walk on November 29th in Seattle's Chinatown-International District features $8 bites at a variety of businesses throughout Chinatown, Japantown, and Little Saigon.

Chef Kristi & The That Brown Girl Cooks team will be operating as a Community Kitchen on Saturday, November 22 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Métier Brewing, 2616 E Cherry St, Seattle, WA. Mariah the Scientist has announced the dates for her 2024 To Be Eaten Alive Tour to support her latest album of the same name.

The Live Nation-produced trek will begin in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Feb. 1, 2024, followed by eight shows throughout the month in the U.K. and Europe.

A North American leg begins March 6, 2024, at Neptune Theatre in Seattle, Washington, and runs through May 6, 2024 at Tabernacle in Atlanta, Georgia.
