Cinnamon Jovon Discusses Self-Love Rituals and New Acting Venture on The Day With Trae

In a recent episode of The Day With Trae, host Trae Holiday welcomed author, podcaster, and self-described "intuitive creative" Cinnamon Jovon to the Black Media Matters Studio. The conversation highlighted Jovon's holistic approach to wellness, her upcoming media projects, and her advocacy for community mental health.

A Ritual Approach to Wellness

Jovon spoke extensively about her book, Drink Your Beauty, which she described as a juicing and smoothie ritual book. The project contains roughly 115 recipes, each accompanied by visuals and affirmations designed to foster self-love and intentionality.

The inspiration for the book stemmed from Jovon's personal health journey. After experiencing unresolved hormonal changes, she turned to a strictly plant-based diet, a practice she previously used to successfully reverse type two diabetes within two and a half months, she said.

Launching CJ: Unfiltered

Expanding her digital footprint, Jovon discussed the launch of her new solo podcast, CJ: Unfiltered. Designed to host raw, honest conversations about heavy and adult topics, the podcast aims to break the silence surrounding taboo subjects, she said.

The inaugural episode will focus on Black men's mental health, timed to coincide with Black Men's Mental Health Month. Jovon shared that the topic is deeply personal, serving to honor her late ex-husband, who suffered from depression in silence, and to support their four sons.
