From Forklifts to Fades: How Juice Fades Manifested His Celebrity Barber Dream
On a recent episode of “The Day With Trae,” host Trae Holiday sat down with a man who truly understands the power of manifesting a vision: award-winning Tacoma-based celebrity barber Juice Fades.
Juice Fades shared that he moved from Texas to Tacoma 2017 and initially worked in a warehouse driving forklifts. Driven by an urge to do something for himself and an initial practical goal of getting a car, he enrolled in barber school.
While still in school, Juice Fades was inspired by visiting barbers who competed in professional competitions. It was then that he decided he would one day be a celebrity barber—even putting it in his social media bio before he had ever cut a famous client's hair.
The manifestation became reality when comedian Nate Jackson walked into the shop. Though he was already booked solid, Juice recognized the opportunity, shifted his schedule, and took the shot. That single haircut opened the doors to a career cutting comedians and stars.
Today, Juice Fades is a powerhouse in the barber community. He has won competition titles three years in a row at the Reign of Style Hair Show & Competition, and is dedicated to bringing therapeutic energy to the Tacoma community. He is currently nominated for the "Barber of the Year" MANE Award at Reign of Style.
