From Resilience to Wellness: Jordan Daisy’s Journey with Unbound Health and Wellness

Jordan Daisy, a co-founder of Unbound Health and Wellness and a published author, recently joined host Trae Holiday on “The Day With Trae.”

Once a star high school athlete in the Pacific Northwest, Daisy's path took a difficult turn after college ball, eventually leading to a 14-year prison sentence. Rather than letting this time define him negatively, he viewed his incarceration as a period of intense preparation and growth.

Daisy approached his time away with the discipline he learned from sports. He chose to treat his sentence as "school" and "the practice before the game" for his eventual return to society.

"In order to keep myself sane, I worked out and it brought me so much clarity and returned a certain belief in myself," he said on his dedication to fitness.

During his incarceration, Daisy became deeply involved in the study of fitness and human services. His accomplishments during this time included earning certifications in personal training and strength and conditioning, receiving community support through a GoFundMe page to pursue his goal of becoming a top-tier trainer, and completing an Associate of Arts degree in Human Services.

Encouraged by his mother to write, Daisy transformed his prison journals into a self-help book titled “A Daisy's Growth.” The book is a raw, honest account of his experiences, including his original journal entries, spelling errors and all, to maintain its authenticity.

Daisy noted that the book is designed to help others navigate their own hardships.

"I gave people some exercises in the book, some journal prompts, and just to make people think about their own situations and how that situation is not hindering them, but it's actually helping,” he said.

Daisy's latest venture is Unbound Health and Wellness, a space he dreamed of while incarcerated. The center and gym focuses on complete wellness, including one-on-one and small group personal training, post-rehab and pre-rehab services for injuries, recovery tools like compression socks, and future plans for an on-site physical therapist.

Unbound Health and Wellness has established a GoFundMe page to secure equipment and provide access to their services for children who may not be able to afford personal training.
