PHOTOS: Converge Media Kicks It with Creative Lou at Métier Brewing

The Back2Besa crew recently kicked it at Métier Brewing in the Central District, where they connected with multi-disciplinary artist Damon Brown, better known as Creative Lou, the visionary behind many of Métier's striking beer can designs. Back2Besa host Besa Gordon and Converge co-founders The Big O and Erik Kalligraphy held it down behind the scenes.

Rodney Hines, the proud CEO of one of the country's few Black-owned breweries, showed off Brown's art, from the Precious Black Energy (PBE) to the Black Stripe Coconut Porter created in partnership with The Jerk Shack. The occasion celebrated a creative partnership that continues to uplift Black artistry and entrepreneurship in the community.

Damon Brown's work is a fundamental thread in Converge Media's identity, living in permanence from the iconic Black Media Matters Studio wall to the cold ones people grab at Métier. The gathering felt like a much-needed reunion, capturing the deep-rooted story behind the art that’s making noise both visually and in the beverage world.

See the full story on all Converge Media platforms on National Beer Can Day, Saturday, January 24. As the crew continues to shine a light on the people and movements driving culture forward, where will the Converge crew show up next?

Look out for the full story on an upcoming episode of Back2Besa on FOX 13 Seattle and FOX 13+, airing every Saturday at 10:30 p.m. on FOX 13 Seattle and Sundays at 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. on FOX 13+. Viewers can also stream episodes anytime on the FOX Local app.
