PHOTOS: The Joy and Spirit of the First Steelheads Sunday at T-Mobile Park
It’s been one week since the Steelheads returned to T-Mobile Park for the Seattle Mariners’ first Steelheads Sunday of the season. Photographers Paul Sanders and Erik Kalligraphy masterfully documented the game's joy and spirit as Converge Media celebrated this historic moment in a suite filled with family and friends in true Converge style.
On top of clinching the victory against the Cleveland Guardians, the Mariners made history as the first MLB team to integrate a Negro Leagues jersey into their regular rotation. Eighty years since the Steelheads made their mark, the day felt like a homecoming. From ceremonial first pitches honoring Dr. John M. Perkins to the youthful energy of young players on the dirt, this felt like our community getting the recognition we deserve.
Respect the past, own the future. Sundays are for the Steelheads.
Stay tuned for the full story coming soon on all Converge Media platforms.
