Seattle Super Hawks Tryouts This Saturday Mark the Start of the USBL 2026 Season

The United States Basketball League (USBL) is making a triumphant return for its 2026 season, marking its 40th anniversary and kicking off games in March, 2026. Anchoring the revival on the West Coast are the Seattle Super Hawks, one of eight dynamic teams ready to compete. For aspiring players, the road to the 2026 USBL season starts this weekend at the Pacific Northwest Combine this Saturday, January 31st.

This is a prime opportunity for professional talent to showcase their skills for the West Coast franchises. The Combine will take place at Seattle Pacific University’s Royal Brougham Pavilion (3414 3rd Ave W, Seattle, WA 98119). Doors open at 10:30 am, with the tryout running from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. This will be a closed tryout.

The League of Opportunity Returns

Founded in 1985, the USBL has historically been a vital spring-season platform for both emerging and veteran talent, helping to advance the careers of over 150 participants who have subsequently reached the NBA, including basketball legends like Muggsy Bogues, Manute Bol, Spud Webb, and Anthony Mason. After a hiatus since 2008, the league is back with a modern focus on player development and community engagement.

The relaunched league features eight West Coast franchises: the Bakersfield Majestics, Lilac City Legends, Long Beach Blue Waves, Salem Capitals, San Diego Surf, Seattle Super Hawks, Vancouver Bears, and Yakima Heat.

League owners and leadership are energized by the return. “Our mission is to bring affordable family-friendly, professional basketball and entertainment to the local community, while providing our players, coaches, and staff with opportunities to grow their careers and develop both on and off the court,” USBL owner Jacqueline Yang said.

How To Register

Players can still register at www.usbl.com. Preregistration is $175, or walk-up registration is available for $225.

With the 2026 season on the horizon, the USBL is positioned to make basketball history. Interested players and fans are encouraged to follow the Super Hawks and the entire USBL for updates on the league’s historic return.
