The Healing Power of Yuan Ming: Heru TchaasAmen On Repairing and Uplifting Community

In a recent interview on "The Day with Trae," Heru TchaasAmen, a Yuan Ming instructor who updated us on his latest achievement in his mastery of the traditional Chinese practice Qigong, shared his transformative journey in bringing ancient healing practices to the community. Sporting the motto “heal and uplift oneself to uplift others,” TchaasAmen’s dedication to his personal growth has profoundly impacted those around him.

For five and a half years, TchaasAmen diligently studied to become a qualified instructor in his field to have the tools to share his knowledge effectively with the community. He initially sought out his new certification to " heal myself, to alleviate or move away from patterns of consciousness” including indecisiveness, hypocrisy, or unfairly expecting immediate results. He revealed that Qigong provided a format for him to see what the patterns were and to seek a system to heal those patterns.

When asked how he receives the community's acknowledgement of his dedication, TchaasAmen lauded the community for supporting and validating his craft. "I want to see my people healthy. I want to see my people happy. I want to see my people free from these patterns of discomfort and disease. I want to see my people living as their true self,” he said. "In order to do that, I have to do it myself."

TchaasAmen integrates Buteyko breathing, ancient meditation practices, and various levels of Qigong to create a unique healing experience. He discussed the wide array of ailments this collective work can address, from sleep apnea and inflammation to digestive issues, headaches, and high blood pressure.

Through his methods, he highlighted the importance of establishing internal peace. "One of the focuses…is to be relaxed and calm and peaceful internally at all times,” he said. “No matter what chaos is going on, if we can be calm in situations of chaos, we can find the true line to get back to center."

TchaasAmen stressed the necessity of this work in a "fractured and polarized" society. "These techniques allow us to reclaim the ancestral breath, reclaim our natural way of being where we understood oneness and unity as a deep core principle, and reestablishing that core is primary to reestablishing civilization,” he said.

Through his "Breathing Black Love" series, in partnership with WOW Gallery, TchaasAmen guides participants through practices every Saturday at 11:00 a.m., now available online. The direct results he observes through the series empower him to "just go deeper." The classes explore the five essential heart qualities: trust, openness, love, gratitude, and gongjing, meaning the true respect for all things. Participants learn to embody these pure qualities, aiming to be in the presence of them at all times.

Looking ahead, TchaasAmen will be a speaker at Kamfest in Philadelphia on October 18 and 19, presenting a workshop on Botenko breathing. He expressed excitement about sitting at the feet of the masters while also sharing his knowledge.
