TraeAnna Holiday, the host of The Day With Trae, recently interviewed Shontia Whitehead, one of the founders of the health and fitness nonprofit Free Flo Fit. Whitehead talked about how she got involved with Free Flo Fit, the organization's annual event Fit Melanin Summer, and the importance of building relationships within the community.

Medani, who co-founded Free Flo Fit with Shontia Whitehead, shared that their partnership began after they collaborated on a fitness class at Umoja Fest. The success of the class inspired them to create an organization that would provide accessible fitness resources to the community.

Besa Gordon, the beloved host of Back2Besa on FOX 13 Seattle, has returned to the Emerald City after her healing journey to Tanzania. While still on leave to prioritize her health, Besa made a special visit to the Black Media Matters studio to personally express her gratitude to TraeAnna Holiday, who has been graciously filling in as guest host since taking over from Deaunte Damper.

Perry Porter is a multi-talented artist based in Tacoma, WA. His work as a painter, songwriter, teacher, and fashion designer all reflect his commitment to celebrating and empowering Black people. Through his art, Perry aims to challenge conventional standards of beauty and provide a fresh perspective for Black youth.

In a recent interview on The Day with Trae, Loria Yeadon, a representative from the YMCA of Greater Seattle, discussed the critical issue of water safety and swim equity. Yeadon emphasized the alarming statistics surrounding drowning, particularly among children of color. Black children ages one to 14 are five times more likely to drown than their Caucasian counterparts, and this disparity increases to ten times for Black children between the ages of 11 and 12.

Deaunte Damper, Vice President of the Therapy Fund Foundation, recently sat down with Trae for an interview on The Day to discuss the foundation's important work and the upcoming Reclaiming Wellness Conference.

Recent high school graduate and Converge Media production intern Chukundi Salisbury Jr. appeared on "The Day with Trae" to discuss his acceptance to Howard University and his aspirations for the future.
