Recently, in keeping with the theme of powerful women, host Trae Holiday featured Marie T Kidhe, the managing principal at RieImagine Solutions, on The Day With Trae. With a track record as an intrapreneur spanning over six years, Kidhe offered insight into business ownership, collaboration, and what it means to be a leader throughout the segment.

This week on The Day with Trae, host Trae Holiday welcomed guest Menopause Mentor Danyale Thomas for another segment. In this segment, the two dive into practical strategies for managing the more challenging symptoms of menopause, spotlighting one of the more prominent and disruptive symptoms, hot flashes.

In honor of Women's History Month, Alesha Washington, President and CEO of the Seattle Foundation, joined host Trae Holiday on The Day With Trae's "Winning Women's Wednesday." Established in 1946, The Seattle Foundation is one of the largest community foundations in the United States. With an extensive range of work, from connecting donors with nonprofits and community organizations to supplying grants to address various social and economic issues in the Pacific Northwest, the foundation is focused on providing equitable opportunities in Seattle. 

In commemorating Women's History Month, Karissa Braxton, the Senior Communications Director at the Seattle Office of the Mayor, joined Trae Holiday on The Day With Trae's "Winning Women's Wednesday." Their discussion ranged from Braxton's illustrious career in communications within Seattle politics to her advice for young women aspiring to leadership roles. Delving into the segment, Braxton explained the driving force behind her career journey since graduating from Howard University in 2014.

This Tuesday, Marcus Harrison Green, the founder of the South Seattle Emerald, sat down on The Day With Trae with host Trae Holiday to discuss the mission of Hinton Publishing, a publishing house Green established in August of last year. Hinton Publishing aims to act as a beacon of inclusivity and equity in the literary landscape, focusing on elevating and recognizing works from authors from underrepresented communities. A personal odyssey for Green, Hinton is a tribute to his grandfather, after whom the company was named, who had his own written work stolen and was never recognized in his time. 

Alicia Crank, Executive Director at the Seattle CityClub, joined Trae Holiday on The Day With Trae this Monday to discuss her work in the organization, upcoming initiatives, work in the Seattle Sports Commission, and role as a community leader. Seattle CityClub, founded over 40 years ago by eight Seattle women spurred into action by the exclusionary practices of men's-only rotary clubs, promotes civic engagement, civil discourse, and the annual tradition of hosting public debates, all aimed at empowering King County residents to actively participate in shaping their communities. 

Dr. Orisade Awodola, the president of the Institute of African Centered Thought (IACT), joined host Trae Holiday on the Day With Trae last week to discuss her upcoming African Centered Healing Conference and her new book, African Centered Ancestral Healing.

On March 7th the Seattle Opera in partnership with the King County Library System and NAAM presented A Conversation With Ilyasah Shabazz. It was an inspiring evening with Ilyasah Shabazz, who is the daughter of civil rights icon Malcolm X, also known as Malik el-Shabazz. The conversation included reflection on the legacy of one of the most influential figures in history through the lens of his daughter’s unique perspective. 

Heru Tchaas Amen returned this week for another enlightening segment of Mindfulness Monday on The Day With Trae. Talking with host Trae Holiday, Tchaas Amen spotlighted his recent endeavors working with youth in Federal Way Public Schools.

Earlier this week, Jennifer Zeyl, the Artistic Director of Intiman Theatre, joined Trae Holiday on The Day With Trae to unveil the exciting lineup of events for March. These events are part of the Share the Love, a peer-to-peer, crowdsourced campaign to raise $50,000 for Intiman's 50th anniversary. This month, on Wednesdays, the 13th, 20th, and 27th, the Theatre will present three showcases highlighting artist responsibility during revolution and political strife. Zeyl emphasized her position as the Artistic Director when choosing productions for Intiman Theatre.

Jenefeness Franke, the Executive Officer of Black Owned Business Excellence (BOBE), recently joined Trae Holiday on "The Day With Trae" to discuss BOBE's collaborations with minority-owned businesses statewide to provide support and elevate them onto a broader platform.

On this segment of The Day With Trae, host Trae Holiday sat down with Christine Alar, a Senior Transportation Planner for the Seattle Department Of Transportation (SDOT), to discuss SDOT's Rainier Ave S Bus Lane Project and the implementation of safety measures throughout the corridor.

Joining Trae Holiday on The Day With Trae is Dr. Margaret Towolawi, a physician and the founder and director of both the Nurture Well Center, a direct primary care practice, and SkinStatMD, a dermatology clinic where she specializes in lifestyle medicine. With a background in general practice and obstetrics, she now focuses on a newer approach to healthcare. Her work in lifestyle medicine focuses on six components: Plant-based nutrition, stress reduction, healthy sleep, exercise, reduction of substances such as alcohol and tobacco, and maintaining and building social connections to prevent, treat, and reverse disease. 

Joining host Trae Holiday on The Day With Trae is Shamso Issak, the Founder and Executive Director of Living Well Kent. This organization is dedicated to empowering Kent and South King County residents, focusing on refugees and immigrants from non-English speaking backgrounds by equipping them with the essential tools to navigate and thrive within their community. Drawing from her experiences as an immigrant from Somalia, Issak's journey has been a foundation builder for her organization.

On Thursday, February 28, Kiesha Garrison, the CEO and founder of Hey, Black Seattle!, stopped by The Day with Trae for a conversation about her site with host Trae Holiday. Originally from Louisiana, Garrison brings 15 years of experience in media publishing and technology to her platform. Having previously worked as the Microsoft AI platform engineering team's Director of Culture and Communications, she witnessed firsthand how large companies utilize technology to create innovative solutions to address challenges across various sectors. Using her skills and expertise, she transitioned her expertise into Hey, Black Seattle! and developed a medium focused on forging relationships throughout Seattle's Black community.

Joining Trae Holiday on this episode of The Day With Trae is K. Wyking Garrett, the current CEO and president of the Africa Town Community Land Trust (ACLT). In this episode, the community leader talks to Holiday about his organization's mission, how and why it was founded, and the numerous projects it's created to fight against gentrification and maintain Seattle's Black community in neighborhoods such as the Central District.

Starting the New Year, Trae Holiday is back with a brand new season of The Day with Trae. For this first episode, Holiday is joined by life coach Heru Tchaas Amen for Mindfullness Monday, a segment happening now every Monday. The founder of Heru Health, a holistic life and wellness service focused on helping others find peace and balance within their daily lives, Tchaas Amen offers a variety of programs on how to transform one's life positively by integrating various meditation exercises and visualization practices into one's life. In this episode, Tchaas Amen, an advocate of energy work, explains his "FIVE" tips for living a balanced and healthy life: "focus on one's energy work," set intentions with purpose, and visualize success every day.

As a theater kid, I’ve grown up with the common knowledge that Michelle Lang-Raymond and Isiah Anderson know what they’re doing when it comes to putting shows together. I’ve attended several Teen Summer Musicals to see their collective work in action. Over the last few years, I’ve been able to connect with them in a multitude of ways. But when I tell you I was beyond blown away by Tia Naché’s one-woman show, That Talk You Do, I thoroughly mean it!
