Seattle Kraken forward Yanni Gourde spent his Friday afternoon with John Hay Elementary, playing games, answering questions, and leaving behind some valuable knowledge. It’s all part of the teams commitment to giving back to the kids in our community.

In thrilling, tense, and grinding fashion, the Seattle Kraken defeated the New York Rangers in overtime. After another late penalty allowed their opponent to tie things up, the Kraken remained focused, used an improved overtime strategy, and Justin Schultz found the game winner.

Converge Media is back in the South on a #PartneredPilgrimage with Seattle’s Choose 180 and Sankofa Impact. As a theater kid, I’ve grown up with the common knowledge that Michelle Lang-Raymond and Isiah Anderson know what they’re doing when it comes to putting shows together. I’ve attended several Teen Summer Musicals to see their collective work in action. Over the last few years, I’ve been able to connect with them in a multitude of ways. But when I tell you I was beyond blown away by Tia Naché’s one-woman show, That Talk You Do, I thoroughly mean it! 

Hundreds of high school students from across Seattle walked out of their schools Monday and marched to city hall to demand action from leaders after last week's fatal shooting of a student at Ingraham High School in North Seattle.

Food-wise, you already know I grabbed the baller box which comes with, snow crab legs, a lobster tail, shrimp, salmon, and fries. Big O got the garlic noodles with snow crab legs and a lobster tail. As for our drinks, we got the berry lemonade and even took one to go!

For this month's panel, we wanted to focus on something for the influencers, and business owners that are struggling with creating TikToks and Reels that win and create engagement. This month’s mixer will be held at Sugar Hill Seattle.

On Sunday, the Seattle Kraken honored Rise Above founder and CEO Jaci McCormack as their Hero of the Deep. McCormack has worked to uplift Native American youth, providing opportunities for advancement and development through sports. Her work has put the organization into a national spotlight. True to her nature, McCormack turned the spotlight to the youth.

Seattle native Ken Gayle returned to the Emerald City for a special afternoon at Plymouth Church in Seattle. The world-famous tenor brought his powerful voice to the the community, singing in a public performance at the church.

In the third of their six game homestand, the Seattle Kraken lost another heart breaker, falling in overtime to the Winnipeg Jets. Seattle held the lead until the final three seconds, but a late penalty would be a fatal blow as they would lose in overtime.

On Thursday, D’Vonne Pickett Jr. was laid to rest. His life was celebrated during a memorial service at Climate Pledge Arena, featuring musical guests, the Crowning, a speech from the mayor and the premiere of Converge’s latest film uplifting D’Vonne’s legacy, The Marathon. It was an emotional and impactful gathering.

In game two of their current six game homestand, the Seattle Kraken fell to the Minnesota Wild in a hard hitting, grinding 1-0 affair. The Seattle power play continued it’s struggles, but there were silver livings to the loss.

D'Vonne Pickett Jr. made an unmistakable impact on the community in both the Central District and Seattle as a whole. One way he did so was through the CD Panthers football program, where he served as the head coach for the 6u team that his son plays for. We followed that team through the end of their season and the championship game after Pickett's tragic death.

The Seattle Kraken extended their win streak to five, as they opened a six game homestand with a thrashing 5-1 win over the Nashville Predators. Andre Burakovsky tallied three points, while Jordan Eberle netted two goals. The Kraken put on a beautiful performance on national television
