From popup tents at Communion Seattle on Union to Roller Skating at Judkins Park, and from musical stars of tomorrow at Jimi Hendrix Park to hip-hop icons of yesteryear at the Museum of Pop Culture. Kelenic comes up clutch as Mariners take series over White Sox with 5-1 win
To close out their series against the Chicago White Sox and their six-game homestand, the Seattle Mariners were victorious thanks to a crucially big game from Bryce Miller and a clutch triple from Jarred Kelenic. Although there wasn’t balance, per say, on the offensive end for Seattle, the Mariners got runs across when they needed to and now head out on a big road trip.

As the team celebrated their Salute to the Negro Leagues, the Seattle Steelheads fell to the Chicago White Sox in game two of their series, sending this to tomorrow’s rubber match. Seattle was unable to take the win in extra innings, failing to get the tying run across to keep the game going.
Trident true: Mariners get first win in City Connect jerseys as Teoscar Hernandez hits go-ahead solo shot late
For the first time in their City Connect jerseys, the Seattle Mariners were victorious as the team took the first game of the series against the Chicago White Sox with a strong outing from Bryan Woo and some late offense down the final few innings of the game.

Marlins sink Mariners sweep attempt with 4-1 victory behind strong night from Eury Perez
The Seattle Mariners failed to complete a sweep of the Miami Marlins, as the bats cooled down to a chill and starting pitcher Luis Castillo didn’t have complete control of his fastball in the loss. While Castillo only allowed two runs and the game was within reach, Seattle’s offense couldn’t produce enough.

Child Care Staff to Receive Up to $5.3 Million to Support Workforce
For the third consecutive year, the Department of Education and Early Learning (DEEL) will provide millions in relief to support and retain child care workers. Funded by the Payroll Expense Tax, up to $5.3 million–the City’s largest direct payment investment to date–is projected to reach approximately 4,500 child care workers across the city. Applications open Tuesday, June 13, 2023.

Pride Month Spotlight: Gladys Bentley
Gladys Bentley (stage name, Bobbie Minton) was a Harlem Renaissance blues singer and cross dresser. She was one of the most well-known and financially successful black women in the United States in the 1920s and 1930s. She was a pioneer in pushing the envelope of gender, sexuality, class, and race with parody and exaggeration, personally and professionally.
