Seattle Kraken Photo Editor Liv Lyons is an example of chasing dreams and breaking down barriers. Lyons has been creating space for Black women in the industry after she began shooting Mariners games at T-Mobile Park with Circling Seattle Sports just 18 months ago.

Have you heard about Terrain? The annual one-night-only event in Spokane is one of the regions largest gatherings of artists from all over the world. Featuring nearly 400 artists, Terrain has firmly established its name as one of the top destinations for art lovers in the Pacific Northwest. Back2Besa host Besa Gordon headed across the state to check it out for herself.

The Seattle Kraken will lose another forward with a long-term injury, as Andre Burakovsky will miss approximately 6-8 weeks with what is being called an "upper body injury." The Kraken will be without a player that was their leading point scorer last season before he suffered a groin injury that ended his campaign immediately after the all-star break.

The Seattle Kraken fell to the New York Rangers, closing out a three-game homestand for Seattle. It was a bizarre night at Climate Pledge Arena as a light issue delayed the start of this contest, before the Kraken scored the opening goal of the game with a Justin Schultz blast. It was all Rangers from there, as New York scored the next four goals and Seattle failed to answer back.

It’s Kraken season and you know Back2Besa Host Besa Gordon had to head over to the Team shop to get her fit together ahead of the first home game of the year. She was joined by stylist Akia Ronai as she picked out some of the most fly apparel on offer.

When Lennie Childs was thrown into the middle of an ice-hockey camp at five years old in Maryland, he had no idea it would spark a lifelong love affair with the sport to which he’s dedicated the last two decades of his life. Now, Childs has climbed the ladder to become one of the first Black coaches in NCAA hockey in his role as an Assistant with Union College.

#BlackStarPower - Yesterday, Trae sat down with Award-Winning Actress Marla Louissaint to discuss her journey and role in Hadestown. Louissaint spoke about her passion for theater and growing up in a household where being a performer wasn't necessarily her parents' first choice.

Last week, a new bus stop mural honoring the Conna Family was unveiled in Federal Way. The timeline honors the family of Black pioneers, led by John and Mary Conna, who purchased 147 acres of land in the 1800s. That land is now the site of the City of Federal Way.

Seattle secured their first win of the 2023-24 season with their 7-4 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes, as a strong start and end to this game on the offensive end saw the Kraken put up 7 goals on their opponents. This sort of win looked more like last season's Seattle team, and had fans excited yet again.

One year ago today, we lost a giant. D’Vonne Pickett Jr was a Central District icon, a Seattle native who built up his family and community just as much as he did himself while always staying true to his roots.
