The Habesha Networks Fall Brunch Series happened on Sunday across 11 Cities, and Seattle was one of them. These networking events are amazing for anyone who wants to connect with the community, even if they are not Habesha. The Seattle event took place at Agelgil Ethiopian Restaurant on Cherry Street in Seattle, where people came together to not only network but also there was an opportunity for them introduce themselves to the group and promote their business.

Last Sunday Converge Media partnered with the Emergency Feeding Program (@emergencyfeeding ), Tre Simmons (@tresimmons13 ), Gardner Global (@jaebadiah , The Chosen Few, Hashtag Lunchbag (@hashtaglunchbagsea )A 4 Apple (@a4applelearningcenter ) and more for their annual meal kit giveaway. Hosted at the Holy Temple Evangelistic Center in Skyway, the event featured meal kits, books, clothing, and other resources for the community, including 400 meal kits.

Against a struggling Sharks team on the day before American Thanksgiving, the Kraken handled business and dominated San Jose from the start. That included a four-goal first period, and Seattle nearly shutout the Sharks had it not been for a Mike Hoffman goal in the latter half of the third period.

Tuesday marked the annual Geno Smith Turkey Giveaway in the Central District. The Seahawks Quarterback partnered with Jerk Shack Kitchen and chef Trey Lamont as well as the 7Sunday Heroes Foundation to give out 212 turkeys along with other food and household items.

Keanna Pickett hosted a press conference this morning announcing the relaunch of The Postman. The beloved Central District Business will re-open in a new storefront at the same building as before. The decision comes after the murder of co-owner D’Vonne Pickett Jr. was tragically murdered last year and the building was further vandalized last month.

After preparing hundreds of Turkey sandwiches and warming kits, community members gathered at Brighton Field in Seattle on Sunday November 19th to play flag football.

The Seattle Kraken went to overtime yet again, this time falling in frustrating fashion to the Calgary Flames. Seattle had a strong second period push but couldn't maintain it through the third period and ultimately saw this game get away from them.

On Sunday, Trap Kitchen PDX hosted their annual “Feed Our Community” holiday event. Hosted by Trap Kitchen along with local artist and radio host Cool Nutz, the event provided meals for 150+ people, as well as turkeys and holiday essentials for 50+ families in need of supplies and holiday comfort.

Central District business owners, community leaders and residents gathered once again on Tuesday to meet about public safety concerns in the area following recent violence.
