The Day With Trae | August 17th, 2026 - Grady Austin
Festival Sundiata is returning to the Seattle Center for its 46th annual celebration of Black culture, art, music, and community resilience. Executive Director Grady Austin recently sat down with Trae Holiday on The Day With Trae to preview the upcoming festivities and reflect on the personal and historical roots that make this event a cherished local tradition.
This year's two-day festival features an exciting lineup, including performances across two stages, food from Black-owned vendors, and free admission to the Seattle Children's Museum. Attendees can look forward to headlining performances by local artist Draze on Saturday night and legendary funk icons Morris Day and The Time closing out the weekend on Sunday.
Rooted in Black love and collective community support, Festival Sundiata offers a welcoming, family-reunion atmosphere for all who attend. The festival takes place on Saturday, August 22, and Sunday, August 23, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Seattle Center.
