Tuesday night on The Pop-Up! Presents: Movement Makers, host Sean Goode welcomed Shalimar Gonzales, CEO of Solid Ground, a local anti-poverty organization tackling food, housing, and systemic inequality. Gonzales reflected on her personal and professional journey from growing up in San Francisco’s Bayview neighborhood and leading youth programs at the YMCA to guiding system-level change in the Pacific Northwest. Their conversation explored what it takes to show up when needs outweigh resources, the power of centering lived experience in strategic planning, and how building "communities of care" can create lasting, systemic impact.
