A Toast to Progress: Celebrating the Women Shaping the Future of Wine

Seattle’s women in wine shined bright when Converge Media’s own Ashleigh McCurdy of The Sanctuary recently attended the 2026 Women in Wine Taste Experience, hosted by Urban Connoisseurs at Osteria la Spiga in Seattle.

The event gathered thirteen remarkable women winemakers from across the country, offering guests an opportunity to taste their diverse wines, hear their inspiring stories, and learn about the artistry and science behind the craft.

For McCurdy, the event was an inspiring reminder of how the wine industry continues to evolve through inclusion, innovation, and community. She noted that the experience was exactly the kind of culture and intersection of creativity that Converge Media loves to highlight through platforms like The Sanctuary.

Beyond the incredible wines and culinary pairings from Executive Chef Sabrina Tinsley, proceeds from the experience support the Black Winemakers Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships to students pursuing studies in viticulture, enology, and agricultural sciences.

Ultimately, this celebration showcased the impact of coming together to share stories, exchange ideas, and raise a glass to the talented women who are actively shaping the future of the wine world.
