Besa Gordon Honors Pacific Northwest Women on Good Day Seattle for Women's History Month
In celebration of Women’s History Month, Back2Besa host Besa Gordon joined Good Day Seattle yesterday to honor the impactful contributions of women across the Pacific Northwest. Gordon presented a tribute highlighting the roles women play in shaping their communities as entrepreneurs, artists, policymakers, and leaders.
“To be able to have a moment like this, and with my platform, to be able to uplift women and let everyone know ‘I see you’… I think that's very important,” Gordon said.
Gordon recognized trailblazers including Joy Hollingsworth, Seattle’s first Black female City Council President, and Laura Clise of Intentionalist. She underscored the importance of women supporting one another, noting that such collaboration is essential for uplifting the entire community.
“The truth is, the future isn't just something women are a part of. In so many ways, women are the reason it exists,” Gordon said in the tribute.
Looking ahead, Back2Besa continues its focus on community engagement with upcoming features this weekend including a Black History Month event in Portland and a recent Cocktails & Charcuterie Class held at the Black Media Matters studio.
