Free Rides, Stronger Ties: How Presidential Transportation Connects Community at the CD Art Walk
Presidential Transportation became a key resource during Seattle’s Central District (CD) Art Walk last year— a monthly celebration of community and creativity. Recognizing that navigating the expansive CD can be challenging, Presidential Transportation, led by President and Owner La'Keith “G Prez” Asphy, provided free shuttle services.
The service has been instrumental in removing barriers to participation, particularly for older folks and youngsters who might otherwise be discouraged from attending due to mobility concerns. Furthermore, the transportation experience itself enhances the event's atmosphere, transforming the journey into a mobile celebration with incredible energy, music, and dancing.
The party bus shuttle service fostered unexpected connections among community members. Takiyah Ward, owner of The Re-Sole 206, noted that riders might make a connection with someone they never knew, calling it a great way to connect people. Ultimately, Presidential Transportation's involvement is a deep commitment to cultural enrichment.
