The Big O recently joined Good Day Seattle to spotlight a landmark initiative by the Seattle Mariners: the launch of "Steelheads Sundays,” beginning tomorrow, Sunday, March 29. He said that the Converge Media and Back2Besa crew were tapped to create the announcement video for the program, which celebrates the historic Seattle Steelheads Negro League team. 

This season, the Mariners will become the first and only MLB team to wear Negro League jerseys as part of their regular rotation for every Sunday home game at T-Mobile Park. 

Additionally, the initiative includes the Steelheads Community Fund, which the Mariners Care Foundation are seeding with a $500,000 commitment. This funding will support youth baseball and softball programs across the Pacific Northwest region, ranging from Alaska to Portland, Oregon.

“The actions of the Mariners Care Foundation ensures that this isn't just a performative action, and it's here to invest in the future of youth baseball and softball and our culture and heritage,” The Big O said.
