From Pageants to Purpose: Mrs. U.S.A. Curve’ Dianna Kennedy Brings Crown-Worthy Wisdom to Almost The Weekend
Mrs. U.S.A. Curve’ Dianna Kennedy recently joined Almost The Weekend for a heart-centered conversation that covered everything from self-confidence and community service to her journey as a mom, business owner, and queen.
Hosted by Besa Gordon and Curtis Delgardo II, the interview offered an authentic look at the woman behind the crown. “Pageants stretch you,” Dianna shared. “They help you show up—not just for your community, but for who you are on the inside.”
With a calm confidence, Dianna reflected on the moment she heard her name announced as Mrs. U.S.A. Curve’. “You expect it because you want to win... but when they call your name, it’s a full-circle moment,” she said. “You feel honored, overwhelmed, and ready to fulfill your duties as queen.”
Beyond the glamor of pageantry, Dianna is deeply rooted in her faith and service. Her business, The Makeup Within, began as a prayed-over Instagram handle and has since grown into a full-service beauty brand with three locations and over 30 contractors. Her platform emphasizes inner beauty as much as the external. “I advocate for who you are on the inside. That’s the makeup within,” she said.
She also offered advice for anyone struggling with self-confidence: “Find a mentor. We all have insecurities, and we all need guidance. Just be you—and get wise counsel.”
Balancing her many roles—including wife, mother of seven, worship leader, and entrepreneur—is no small feat. “I take it day by day,” she explained. “I stick to my calendar. I write it down and make it plain. That’s how I do it.”
The episode closed with a powerful reminder: “Anybody can be a beauty queen. You bring what you have to the table, because nobody is like you. You are beautifully and wonderfully made.”
